The Newcomb Teddy Roosevelt Celebration Sept. 6-7
(no ride captain, so meet and just ride together)
Plan to leave Potsdam Arena Saturday Sept. 6 at 10am.
Route:
Rte 56 south
Left on Rte.3 to Tupper
Rte 30 south to Long Lake
(lunch stop in diner just before intersection of Rte 28, and gas at the intersection)
Rte. 28 north to Newcomb (expected arrival 1:15pm)
Depart for home around 4:30pm.   return route is same.  Suggest dinner in Tupper Lake, Pine Grove Rest. on west side of Tupper on Rte. 3.

Meet in Gouverneur, 9:45am, National Grid parking lot (before you get to NESCO)
Route:
Depart 10am
Rte 58 to Fine
continue Rte 27A
continue Rte 27 through Degrasse
arrive Lampson Falls Parking
        (35 miles, 50 minutes)
Walk into falls takes 15 minutes
Hike out around 11:40am
continue (noon) Rte 27 into Canton Subway shop in plaza.  (lunch/gas)
        (17 miles, 25 minutes)
Depart 1pm, Rte 68 east to Langdon Corners
Left to Crary Mills
back roads to Hannawa via right on Leary Rd., Right on Anderson Rd.,Left on Parmenter Rd., Right on Back Hannawa Rd., Left on Mill St. to Red Sandstone Trail parking lot near Fire house.
        (11 miles, 20 minutes)
Walk in to falls is about 4 minutes.
return to bikes and depart around 1:45pm
From Mill St. to Rte 56 south
Left on Browns Bridge Rd
Left on West Parishville Rd.
Right on Pumpkin Hill Rd. into Parishville Centre
Straight on Sinclair Rd.
Straight on Allens Falls Rd.  Parking just passed the bridge - trail across from parking.
        (12 miles, 20 minutes)
walk into falls is 5 minutes (tree blowdown does not really impair progress)
Depart around 2:45pm.
continue Allens Falls Rd. east
Left on Rte. 47
Left on Rte. 11B into Potsdam
        (10 miles, 20 minutes)
Ice Cream stop in town !

3:30 - 4 pm depart rte. 86 to Jay
to Rte 9N into Ausable Forks
Turnpike Rd. into Silver Lake
continue to Union Falls
continue Alder Brook Rd to Kees Hill-sharp right bend to Rte.3
Left on Rte. 3 south
Right on Gabriels/Onchiota Rd. into Gabriels
    (gas and snack, left on Rte 86)
Depart rte 86 west to Paul Smiths
Right on Rte.30
Left on Rte 458 to Nicholville

Interested in joining a family oriented motorcycle association with areas designated for all riders to include veterans, women, and children?

STAR Touring & Riding Association may be what you are looking for! There is now a chapter available in your riding area, Chapter 289, St. Lawrence.

We feature a ride friendly atmosphere with a ride calendar that our own chapter members decide on. Monthly meetings are held at various locations including NESCO Fun For Sale, area restaurants and diners.

Dealer discounts on STAR merchandise and accessories for your bike. Rides that include both day trips and overnight stays for those interested.

Regional and local STAR Touring events.

Special discounts with select companies for STAR Touring members.

Our chapter is a proud sponsor of two charity rides to benefit the local rescue squads and the Potsdam Humane Society.

We currently have members from all over the North Country.


A few of our rides this season have included an overnight trip to the Green Mountain Chew Chew in Burlington Vt., the NESCO Rescue Ride, a day trip to Americade for the STAR Breakfast, a weekend trip to the NE STAR-B-Q in Rochester, NY, a day trip to the Dinosaur BBQ in Syracuse, a weeklong trip to Chattanooga, Tennessee for STAR Days and many dinner runs, a mystery/trivia ride, and a fall foliage ride through the Adirondacks.

MISSION STATEMENT

 

STAR Touring and Riding - Mission Statement To pursue, promote and protect the interests of motorcyclists; to develop better and more enthusiastic relations between the general public, the media and the operators and riders of motorcycles; to encourage rider participation in events; to promote motorcycle safety and camaraderie among members; to promote organized events; and in general, perform them in a lawful manner.
